Office Outing
A dozen crackers snap apart, an annual act of hope
Nimble fingers reach inside for hidden treasure
Paper crowns are perched on heads as jokes evoke a ritual groan
People play with plastic gifts, waiting for the food to come
And littered all across the cloth are hollow tubes of card.
